Major League Baseball announced today that Jacob deGrom has been selected to be on an All-Star Game roster for the first time in his career.

"This is a huge honor," said deGrom, surrounded by five doctors. "I want to thank Bruce Bochy and anybody else who was responsible for letting me watch the entire All-Star Game from the dugout."

GM Sandy Alderson admitted to being prepared. "We have to admit, Jacob's season has been going so well that we knew this day would come," he said before revealing a special suit of bubblewrap with an official All-Star Game emblem on it. "Jacob will be enjoying the mid-summer classic in style, as long as he remembers to use the bathroom beforehand."
